FRESH GREEN BEANS. This is a must for a delicious a green bean casserole: You must use fresh green beans.

Does that mean you have to snap a lot of green beans? Yes, but trust me, it is worth it.

I grew up on the traditional green bean casserole with canned green beans. Never was a huge fan of green bean casserole until I made them with fresh green beans! It makes a HUGE difference.

Which leaves us with the one ingredient that had me stumped: The can of cream of mushroom soup.

Gluten Free Green Bean Casserole recipe that is the perfect holiday dish with its creamy veggies swimming in a mushroom sauce and crunchy onion toppings! This Green bean casserole will even surprise your non gluten-free family members on how tasty it is!

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, ends trimmed and cut in half
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 5 cups of water
  • 1 (12 oz) can cream of mushroom soup(or use our homemade cream of soup recipe if you'd like)
  • 1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative, I preferred cashew milk for this recipe)
  • 1 cup Gluten-Free French Fried Onions

Directions:

  • 1. Preheat oven 350 F.
  • 2. Boil green beans, onion in water for 10-15 minutes and drain.
  • 3. Stir together green beans, onion, mushroom soup, milk and half cup fried onion rings.
  • 4. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish.
  • 5. Bake for 25 minutes, top with remaining onion rings, bake for 10 minutes.

      Yes! You can make your own (thats what I have to do lol) or some find success finding them at aldi’s (WHICH I NEVER DO lol) So I’ve just given up trying to go from Aldi to Aldi and make our own.
